The small – almost abandoned – village undergoes a cultural resurrection as the result of the work of an active association of former villagers and descendants. The challenge was to transition from the traditional village festival to a more contemporary gathering that would resonate with the younger generation and introduce the small village to a new audience. For the 2025 event, we invited a jazz quintet of renowned musicians (including locals) and co-curated the food stall menu together with the association members and other volunteers. The promo campaign has drawn inspiration from both the kourelou, the traditional woven throw that families used to bring with them to enjoy the festival back in the day and iconic jazz album covers from the ’60s that employed geometric forms in association with the music’s rhythm.
