MATI was established in Santorini, Greece in 1990 by artist Yorgos Kypris as an art gallery in Fira. Now MATI is reintroduced as an art observatory opening a new art space housed at a 1900 canava (traditional winery) in the village of Mesaria.

In the spring of 2024, we engaged acclaimed photographer and publisher Yiannis Bournias for a 3-day trip to Santorini with our team to shoot photos and videos ahead of MATI’s brand relaunch. Under the auspices of the MATI crew and Yorgos Kypris himself we captured the art, the land, the wine and, above all the new vibe MATI seeks to transpire in its new era.
