Open Council aspires to be a technological response to complex, layered challenges while recognizing that technology alone is never the full solution. We drew inspiration from the butterfly effect — the idea that even the smallest gesture can spark wider systemic change. Butterfly, a symbol of transformation and of the aspiration for something better, introduces a natural dimension to the world of artificial intelligence. The use of gradient reinforces ideas of motion, synthesis, and evolution — concepts that resonate with both AI and social participation. Our aim is a non-stiff identity that feels simple, easy to apply by Open Council’s small, dedicated team, and scalable beyond the scope of the project.
