Part of the Active Citizens Fund programme, Localwatch has been conceived as a bottom-up, monitoring and participatory platform similar to Vouliwatch but at a municipality scale. It enables citizens to take action in matters of their local community by embodying open dialogue and direct democracy tactics. At the moment available for the four biggest municipalities of Greece — Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras and Herakleion — Localwatch is build with scalability on mind and it is planned to open to more cities in the near future.
